Meeting with Police & Crime Commissioner Candidates

31 October 2012

7.30 pm

The Memorial Hall

On 15 November 2012, we are all being invited to elect Police and Crime Commissioners. The Commissioner for the Thames Valley will replace the Thames Valley Police Authority and will oversee policing across three counties (Berks, Bucks & Oxon), with a population of 2.3 million and a budget of £370 million. By comparison, 19 MPs cover the same region.

So far, this election and the role of the Commissioner has received little publicity. However, the election has great importance for the residents of Thames Valley.

Currently three candidates have confirmed that they will speak at our meeting and answer your questions.

John Howson – Liberal Democrat Anthony Stansfeld – Conservative Tim Starkey – Labour
