Jones VC Trophy 2017 Award

Richard and Sarah Owen win the Jones VC Trophy 2017 Award

Richard and Sarah have been members of Good Neighbours, which involves driving the elderly and sick in the Community to doctor’s and hospital appointments. They visit the sick at home or hospital and look after the elderly in the community, i.e Sarah drives 2 to 3 visually impaired people to their blind club every month.

Richard is Chairman of the Churchyard trust and has been a churchwarden.  Sarah is chairman of the Mother’s Union. Sarah has done the teas at the Mothers and Toddlers Group for many years and provided food at their Christmas Parties.  She helped with Churches together in Crowthorne summer activities on a Friday during the summer holidays for the youth.

They have been involved with the food bank, recycling and litter picking in the local area. They are always ready to help and one youth worker in Finchampstead I spoke too told me that they are so reliable and always ready to produce food and serve it when required at Youth Meetings.

I am sure I have missed many things but they are the sort of couple who just get on and work with the community with no fuss. Tony Barnes
