The Finchampstead Society was created in 1976 by like minded residents of our village. It was a time when urban development threatened to impinge on much of the rural charm of our valued locality. Since then much has been achieved: community togetherness has been retained, re-established and preserved; unwanted developments have been challenged and improvements for all the village established.
Over the years we have run a number of successful social fixtures and events which have helped to draw many residents together in a friendly atmosphere. Activities range from local walks, dances, talks and lectures, dinners, wine tasting to give a small sample. It is, however, your Society so please let us know if you have any further ideas for a social event.
The Society annually awards The Jones Trophy for individuals and groups who make a difference in our village. For more information on the fascinating history of this Trophy click here.
Several times a year we publish The Finchampstead Society Newsletter keeping our members up-to-date and giving them a voice. We hope that this website will also be used as a means of keeping the village informed as well as providing a feedback mechanism for your views on a range of topics.
